Personal Statement: I’ve played for LMU baseball since my junior year. Unfortunately, since I transferred high schools in my junior year, I did not get to play my freshman or sophomore years as a Gator. When coming to Lab, I heard great things about the baseball team and that Lab was a top competitor in their division. On my first day at Lab, Coach Ferrari met with me and said there was still room on the team for me, even though they had already played some games. The team of almost all seniors took me in instantly and I bonded with them for the remainder of the season and school year. The baseball team has been one of my favorite experiences at Lab and means a lot to me. When I look back on Lab I will definitely remember my time on the team as I’ve had a lot of fun and made some great friendships.
2022 (Brandeis): For the JV team at Louis Brandeis Campus on the Upper West Side, Jacob hit for a .235 average while hitting 1 home run and getting hit by a pitch twice. As a pitcher, he threw 11 innings and had 5 strikeouts. Unfortunately, he had a high ERA due to poor defense behind him.
2023 (LMU): Jacob was ready to take his talent to the already stacked Gators baseball team. In 12 plate appearances, he hit for a .400 average while reaching home 4 times. His speed prompted him to pick up 5 stolen bases.
2024 (LMU): Jacob is an everyday player in the Gators lineup for his senior season. You can expect to see him shoving on the mound or making highlight reel plays at 2nd or 3rd base.
Basketball:
2023-2024 (LMU): With his bright gold kicks, Jacob could not be missed on the hardwood floor this year. As a guard he was a lockdown defender, stealing balls left and right, not letting his opponent get the easy shot. At times when the Gators were down, he brought them back into the game with his intensity. He had 16 rebounds this season. He also had a solid shooting season, scoring a total of 20 points.
